Successful launch of first Singapore's commercial satellite equipped with our fiber-optic gyroscopes SRS-1000

The TeLEOS-1 satellite was successfully launched on December 16, 2015 (12:30:00 UTC) by India s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C29)  from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota on the east coast of India. The TeLEOS-1 is first made-in-Singapore commercial Earth Observation satellite. It is developed and built by ST Electronics (Satellite Systems), Singapore and launched and operated by AgilSpace, Singapore. Operating at Near Equatorial Orbit with altitude of 550 kilometres, the TeLEOS-1 offers 1 meter high resolution satellite imagery with an average revisit time of between 12 to 16 hours, enabling decision makers and users the convenient access to high temporal imagery and geospatial solutions, and response to time sensitive events, such as homeland security and border control, maritime situation awareness, and disaster monitoring and management around the equatorial belt. The spacecraft with a mass of ~400 kg features a fully redundant design with a design life of 5 years, a power generation of 680 W  and a size of 1.9 m x 2.0 m x 1.6 m (H). The TeLEOS-1  is equipped with four Optolink’s fiber-optic gyroscopes SRS-1000, manufactured using Optolink’s radiation-stable polarization maintaining (PM, PANDA-type) fiber, to control satellite attitude and an electro-optical payload.
